Family Day Care Is:

Safe, secure home based child care service for children aged 6 weeks to 13 years.
A consistent and familiar child care service where siblings can be cared for together.
A small group environment for a maximum of 4 non-school aged children and up to 3 school aged children using Before and After School or Vacation care.
Play based learning activities to support each child’s individual interests, strengths and developmental needs.

With Educators based across the Central Coast, Hunter New England, North Coast, North Sydney and Western NSW regions, Coastwide Family Day Care has been acknowledged as Meeting National Quality Standards, by the Department of Education.

Coastwide Family Day Care has a reputation for providing safe, secure, high quality home based child care.

Supported by early childhood professionals, qualified, experienced and dedicated Family Day Care Educators provide a flexible and affordable education and care service for families across the Central Coast, Hunter New England, North Coast and Western NSW regions.

Coastwide Family Day Care is available standard and non-standard hours; weekdays, weekends, overnight or evenings. Before and after school care is also available.

Care is available 24/7 to meet the needs of the changing patterns of today’s workforce. Contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

Coastwide Family Day Care is an affordable child care option, which attracts Child Care Subsidy. Fees vary depending on the child care environment, services offered and the qualifications of the Educator.

Each Educator has their own individual fee schedule that outlines their hourly rates, minimum hours charged and additional charges – such as nappies, transport etc.

The average fees are approximately $9 to $16 per hour.

The average minimum charged hours are between 6-9 hours per day.

14 days’ notice will be given for any changes in fees.  

We cater for age groups 0-13 year olds.

There is one off enrolment fee of $50 per family.

Coastwide Family Day Care Educators provide education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 13 years in a small group setting within a home environment.

This home environment is designed to provide opportunities for play based learning, linked to the Early Years Learning Framework.

With a maximum of four non-school aged children, Educators can focus on individual interests, strengths and developmental needs.

Educators incorporate programming and activities which extend learning and respond to the learning opportunities in everyday life. Play based learning experiences reflect the diversity and unique interests of each child.

Children and their families also benefit from the opportunity to build strong and nurturing relationships with their consistent and familiar Educator. The opportunity to build strong relationships in early childhood is acknowledged to promote the development of supportive relationships throughout life.

Coastwide Family Day Care Educators are selected and trained to meet the highest expectations. Educators are required to:

  • Be a fit and proper person
  • Undergo the NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check
  • Have current First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Hold a minimum Certificate III level education and care qualification
  • Hold an emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis management certificate
  • Have a current Child Protection Certificate
  • Have undergone Safe Sleep Training

All adult household members must also undergo a NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check.

In addition, Coastwide Family Day Care Educators are required to:

  • Be physically and emotionally able to care for young children
  • Have an understanding of children’s needs and development
  • Be aware of sensitive to the needs of children and their families
  • Be able to communicate effectively with adults and children

Qualified, experienced and dedicated Coordination Unit staff provide additional early childhood experience and expertise to support your child's childcare arrangement, including:

  • Matching your family to the right Educator
  • Organising enrolment paperwork
  • Visiting Educators while your child is in care
  • Observing and recording your child's progress
  • Assessing the safety and hygiene of the Educator's home
  • Organising back-up care if your regular Educator is unavailable
